As a key member of the team preparing for the launch of the new Winch Financial mutual fund, Jeremey Landskron is excited about both the process of creating the fund and the product that will result.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to be so involved with the management of a mutual fund and I think it will be a great portfolio for our clients and for other investors who are not yet affiliated with Winch Financial yet,” he said. “I think the mutual fund will be especially appealing because it’s a great way for us to combine all of our best strategies into one security. It will provide an opportunity for clients with small accounts to get the full benefit of our ability to manage money.”
That ability is based on an active management style that Winch Financial and Landskron, the company’s portfolio and investment analyst, advocate. As head of trading, Landskron spends a significant portion of his workday working with Winch Financial CEO Christina Winch to determine appropriate allocations for the company’s investment portfolios.
These include a large stable of portfolios, including four rotational strategies that move in and out of the market to capitalize on momentum and avoid large drawdowns. Because some of these strategies require minimum balances, they are not appropriate for every account size. The new Winch mutual fund will combine some of these strategies into one fund, greatly decreasing fees the need for minimum balances.
“The fund will provide an excellent opportunity not only for our clients, but for other investors who want to enjoy the advantages of an actively managed portfolio, without requiring a large initial investment,” Landskron said.
In addition to managing his considerable workload, the ambitious Chartered Financial Analyst candidate already has passed the Level I examination and is aiming to become a CFA charterholder.
“While the CFA certification requirements are daunting and generally take at least three years to complete, I believe that the benefits of this program far exceed the costs,” he said.
Landskron, an Eagle Scout, graduated from Neenah High School and earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin, majoring in Finance, Banking and Investments.
He and his wife Amanda Leigh, a nurse, have twin baby boys, Parker and Isaac, who were born in June. In his limited spare time, Landskron likes to camp, canoe, bicycle and spend time with his family and friends.
